James Doyle is an associate in the Dallas office of Cash Klemchuk Powers Taylor LLP. James is a trial attorney whose practice includes the representation of various business entities and individuals in disputes involving a variety of matters including intellectual property, insurance coverage, personal injury, construction/design defect, products liability, state regulatory issues, breach of contract, general negligence and other business torts. James represents clients in pre-litigation, as well as before trial and appellate courts, arbitrators, and mediators. James has had primary responsibility for all aspects of trial and pre-trial preparation including pre-litigation analysis, demand, negotiation, and claim resolution; institution of litigation; depositions; discovery; mediation; motion practice; settlement negotiations; and strategic planning of litigation. James has successfully argued motions and appeals before various courts in Texas, and has experience trying cases in both a lead and assistant capacity.

Though born in Iowa, James was raised in Houston, Texas; attended college in central Texas; and originally came to Dallas to pursue theological studies. Prior to entering the legal field, James worked for a national recruiting firm based out of Philadelphia that focused on technical staffing needs for information technology, telecommunication, and aerospace firms; such as IBM, Nokia, and Lockheed Martin. James has graduated from two seminaries; completing his last theological course of study at Southern Methodist University’s Perkins School of Theology. Following seminary, in May of 2002, James graduated with honors from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law. James has been licensed to practice law since November 2002.


EXPERIENCE AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Successful defenses of international electronics manufacture in products liability litigation involving claims that products caused fires and ensuing property loss via summary judgment and, on another occasion, negotiated settlement

Successful defense of international corporation in premises liability action via special exceptions, prior to the expenditure of significant defense costs

Successful settlement reached for employer in claims brought under the federal Fair Legal Standards Act alleging unpaid overtime

Successful defense of national charitable organization in various personal injury lawsuits

Successful defense of local construction companies and general contractors in various lawsuits alleging fault relating to workplace injuries

Obtained defense verdict for client, a professional engineer, in residential construction defect suit

Successful prosecution of multi million dollar subrogation action between various insurance companies, receiving favorable settlement for client

Successful prosecution of bad faith claim against insurer via substantial settlement

Defended health supplement manufacturer in products liability litigation

Handled defense of insurance companies in multimillion dollar coverage disputes

Lead attorney in complex copyright litigation

Personally investigated, drafted, and successfully filed complex patent litigation claim

Successfully defended corporation in trademark lawsuit, achieving favorable settlement via mediation

In a Collin County trial, after the verdict was read by the Judge, but before dismissal of the jury and parties, the Judge stepped down from bench, came to Plaintiff’s table, and personally shook James’ hand, congratulating him on a job well done and for being the first attorney in the particular Judge’s Court to successfully prosecute a personal injury case
